I can envision Italian workers making obscene Italian gestures after receiving this email. Yes, it reached as far as Italian workers that had .gov addresses. They are telling Musk to eff-off.

You're right it is anti-democratic unless he has legal authority to do that. That authority appears to be under judicial review.

I’ll let the Italians decide what is or isn’t in line with their vision of democracy. But I will say that this is a dumb request. It serves no purpose other than to try to appease Musk’s need to show his power over front line workers.
