yes, i have seen the countless articles of investing through changes in parties....the vast majority of those were with a split congress and usually better behaved scotus as a final backstop.
can portfolios built to withstand normal biz cycles also thrive with slow but deeply negative socio-economic changes?

Both his Tariff idea, and mass deportation idea would be devastating for the economy.
They have said they will deport somewhere between 1M, and 11M people. Strangely enough, we deported 1.1M in 2023, and are well on track for the same in 2024. Trump can keep this promise, and not really change anything. He will solve the imaginary problem, with an imaginary solution and MAGA will cheer.
We already have significant sanctions against China. I suspect Trump just leaves these in place and again claims victory.

Have you not heard Trump say how he plans to politicize the Merit Promotion Civil Service and turn it into a partisan organization? Back to the bad old days before Theodore Roosevelt started cracking down on corruption in government. This is going to be very bad.
