"Oblitherate" (v.)
meaning: to obliterate in a manner highly contrary to reality.

etymology: from obliterated + blither*

Example: Trump declared we oblitherated Iran's nuclear capability last year, but, at best, he was darkly shading the truth.

(*) blither (v.)
1868, variant of blether "talk nonsense" (1520s), a northern British and Scottish word (see blather (v.)). Related: Blithered; blithering.
