The ultimate shrewdness is found not in the balance sheet, but in the qualitative excellence of the business.

Trump’s continued behavior has brought back a memory from 72 years ago.
I had finished my junior year in college and had a summer job with Shell in deep south Louisiana. I was a “roustabout” (manual laborer) working in the oil fields in the marshes. It was hard work, but relatively safe compared with the “roughnecks” who worked on the drilling rigs. Those were dangerous jobs – especially with the safety practices back then. Drillers would throw chains to tighten drill pipes, and then shake them off. Sometimes, fingers would get caught when that didn’t go well.
I overheard an old driller with a couple of fingers missing taking. Another guy asked him what he thought about a certain politician. His response:
“His heart pumps piss, his feet don’t match, and he don’t love Jesus!!”
In other words, no redeeming features.
I guess these kind of politicians have always been around.
But not as POTUS. And other key jobs for that matter.

TexIrish,
You waited 72 fucking years to tell this story?
You're a patient man.

It was 57 years for me.... working a summer job after my freshman year in college. It was an Oklahoma company that drilled holes for seismograph crews to shoot. The company (with the perfectly acceptable oil field name of "Ace-Hi Drilling" was based in Tulsa, but they said I could have the job if I could make it up to Owosso Michigan within 24 hours. So I drove to Owosso Michigan and made it in 17 hours.
It was a Shell Oil project. Ace Hi was a sub, as were a few other seismograph drilling companies out of Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. A great summer.
Never heard the particular story you relate, but the words could have come out of the mouths of any number of hardbitten characters I worked with.
They tried to get me to stay at the end of the summer. No way.
It was the best of times... and the worst of times.
The best, as well as the hardest summer job I ever had.
Good times.

I worked labor gang in a steel mill. Solid ingots of steel would come out of the furnace and be rolled down to where men could work on them. A pilger machine would by constant pressure and pounding shape the ingot into a cylinder which would be processed into solid pipe and tested. As labor gang, when the furnace was down, I would crawl up under the rollers and shovel out the metal flakes that broke off the metal rolling along. It was tedious, claustrophobic work. I would go under the furnace and clear out debris breaking off from the brick furnace. I would walk out across the furnace when it was working with an air hose and blow off the settled dust and debris to protect the brick. I would sometimes operate a jack hammer to break down the furnace so that mason could build a new one. It was rough work.
I grew to like most of the working men there, and I would like to see them treated fairly and not robbed by expensive health care by people who don't give a damn about them. Trump is one.

Lapsody,
Is it possible that over the years, you inhaled too much of that toxic blast furnace stuff?
Maybe you have heavy metal poisoning.
I mean your posts read like you eat ten cans of bumble bee tuna a day.

most 'hard industrials' as described on this thread would have likely voted gop always, and trump twice.
i am baffled how they could ever believe a lifelong scammer with $ from dad, would ever have cared about those that earn every cent via blood and sweat.
(regardless of any other lies and red meat)

Trump and the Grand Old Pedos are behind the denial of safe working conditions for miners, and behind the denial of healthcare for miners with lung disease.
The proles are expendable.
Just keep them Mountain Dew gals popping out fresh meat for the mills and mines and we'll be fine.

Sano,
You sound like a pedo yourself. Typically, pedos are obsessed with deflecting from their own criminal behavior and pointing the finger at others as a false flag.
Yeah, sounds like you.

Insanoty,
What's really odd is that wzambon accused me of being Q anon when it was actually you who persistently calls everyone "pedo" if you don't like their politics.
I simply pointed out that you are very likely projecting, as many pedos do.
How does that make me Q Anon?
You guys are all really crazy.

Can’t speak for Sano, but you’ve accused people of being pedos at least 3 times in the last week.

I have no idea who is and who isn’t a pedo among those who post here.
But I do note that you’ve been quick to call other posters “pedo”.
Why is that?
