Reminds me of another great GOP Sheriff...

Michael S. Carona, convicted felon and former elected sheriff-coroner of Orange County, the most Republican County in America.

Larry King had dubbed him "America's Sheriff" and Karl Rove ran with it. In 2007 a federal grand jury indicted Carona, his wife, and his alleged longtime mistress on a slew of corruption charges.

Due to the statute of limitations he was 'only' convicted for felony witness tampering. He served 52 months of a 66 month sentence in a federal country club prison.

The GOP tradition continues....
Carona's felony witness tampering was to benefit the teenage son of his affluent assistant sheriff, Don Haidl. Haidl's son and his buddies were on trial for the brutal gang rape of an unconscious teenage girl on the pool table at the Haidl family's Newport Beach home.

Carona was released from prison the year before Trump was elected.
