" It's Buffett who bought Googl and CB."

CB of course, where did Buffett disclose that HE bought the googl or is that your opinion?

Thank you.

BTW, I thought there was a small chance, ok, very small, a certain old timer might post, I rethought it, if brkb pays a dollar quarterly dividend next year I won't consider buyers of brkb to be suckers. Who knows he still might shock me.

It's very common knowledge that Buffett buys in large ammounts . The largest purchase that either Ted or Todd was in the 1.1 billion range .

Do you know what the fallacy of affirming the consequent means?
Hint: that is a fine example.

Don't be so certain. Embrace the unknowable!
The current Davita stake allocation is about four times that, as just one data point.

$12 billion? Mr Buffet, one assumes.
$1 billion and no further purchases in the subsequent quarter with similar entry price opportunities? Pretty certainly Mr Weschler or Mr Combs.
Between the two sizes, it's probably best not to make unwarranted (unWarrented?) assumptions. There is no law saying Mr Buffett can't do a smaller position, nor that the new gents can't make bigger ones. It's easy to imagine good reasons for either.

This is unlikely to be a Buffett decision for one paramount reason; He is not going to be looking in the mirror on this. Certainly not the Buffett we know for 60 or 70 years.

He won’t own it(pun intended)

" Do you know what the fallacy of affirming the consequent means?
Hint: that is a fine example."

" The fallacy of affirming the consequent is a formal logical fallacy that occurs when one assumes that if 'P implies Q' is true, and 'Q' is true, then 'P' must also be true. This reasoning is flawed because there may be other reasons for 'Q' to be true. For example, if it is stated that "If it rains, the ground will be wet" (P implies Q), and the ground is wet (Q), it does not necessarily mean that it rained"

Sounds like high grade bullsh$t to me old bud, but priceless.

In other words, you think nothing but rain can make for wet ground. Priceless.

You of all people should understand that even bullshit, among other things, can make the ground wet. Or at least, moist.

it's A Buffett pick just like CB. If it was Todd or Ted , they would have spent more on Len and DPZ too. Buffett is running the portfolio till 12/31/25.

Not that it was a very high hurdle but Ai may have surpassed the collective brilliance of most of those who post here. “It is not confirmed who at Berkshire Hathaway made the decision to buy Google (Alphabet) stock, but it was likely portfolio managers Todd Combs or Ted Weschler, not Warren Buffett himself. The decision is a rare move into technology for the firm and was made as Buffett is preparing to step down as CEO.
Todd Combs and Ted Weschler: These two managers oversee a significant portion of Berkshire Hathaway's equity portfolio and are more active in making technology investments.
Warren Buffett: While Buffett is still involved, this particular investment is not in line with his usual investment style and is likely a decision made by his designated lieutenants.
Other factors: The investment was made despite the company's historical avoidance of large tech stocks, and Buffett has previously expressed regret over not investing in Google sooner. ”
