...of Trump's shameless lying and democracy subverting rhetoric.
And his base believes the lies? Still? Against all the irrefutable evidence?
TRUMP: "If a Democrat Presidential Candidate had an Election Rigged & Stolen, with proof of such acts at a level never seen before, the Democrat Senators would consider it an act of war, and fight to the death. "
TRUMP: "The “Justice” Department and the FBI have done nothing about the 2020 Presidential Election Voter Fraud, the biggest SCAM in our nation’s history, despite overwhelming evidence. They should be ashamed. History will remember. Never give up. See everyone in D.C. on January 6th."
Trump: "If we have corrupt elections, we have no country!"
Oh, yeah, he is an authoritarian demagogue.

His base believes that all the new COVID-era rules regarding elections meant that the elections were "Rigged & Stolen," and constitute "Voter Fraud." They believe that if the election were run under 2018 election rules, rather than 2020 election rules, that Trump would have won - therefore, Democrats stole the election by changing the rules, even if that theft could not be overturned because it was a different kind of cheating than ballot box stuffing or vote-buying.
There's no "irrefutable evidence" to disabuse them of that belief. That kind of counterfactual can't ever be disproven or proven.

I'm sure some do.
But most of the MAGA base does not need to work that hard at coming to their conclusions...they just believe Trump.
And forget 'irrefutable'. How about overwhelming?

Again, the evidence is only that there were too few instances of specific types of ballot fraud (false voters, people voting twice, etc.) to possibly affect the outcome of the election. But the GOP base labels many other aspects of the 2020 election as fraudulent, primarily changes to the rules under which the elections were conducted. Their counterfactual belief is that had the Democrats not changed the rules in order to address COVID, Trump would have won handily. That can't be proven or disproven, so there's no real evidence (overwhelming or otherwise) to really refute that.

'Counterfactual'. Yes.
And I don't know that that is what many Trump supporters believe. They believe there was MASSIVE fraud. Which there clearly was not.

Again, they think that all the many changes that were made to election rules were fraud - all the administrative changes in response to COVID, the last minute shifts in election procedure, the adjustments that were made to longstanding rules made under emergency powers. They believe all of that was cheating, rigging, and fraud.
Granted, many of them also believe that those changes afforded Democrats the chance to commit 'typical' voter fraud without getting caught. Which is silly, but even though there's no evidence of that more traditional type of fraud, that isn't going to change their minds about the Democrats "stealing" the election through their legal "cheating."

They believe all of that was cheating, rigging, and fraud. And which never would have been an issue if Trump had simply done what every losing presidential candidate in U.S. history had done before him: graciously admitted defeat, urged his followers to support the new administration, and, as an outgoing (loser) president, committed himself to the peaceful transfer of power.
And you've mentioned the administrative changes in response to COVID a few times as an excuse for the stupidity of the cult without also pointing out that those changes in response to a public health crisis did not advantage one party over the other. Well, if anything, they disadvantaged democrats, as polling places in minority communities in some red states were more likely to be closed as a result of the pandemic than those in white neighborhoods.
But now that the holidays are over, I need to go back and see why #TrumpStinks, #DiaperDon, and #TrumpSmellsBad have been trending for the past couple of days and get the low-down on Trump's toe pads (counterbalance to his three-inch lifts or Frontotemporal Dementia... you decide).

“”And which never would have been an issue if Trump had simply done what every losing presidential candidate in U.S. history had done before him: graciously admitted defeat, urged his followers to support the new administration, and, as an outgoing (loser) president, committed himself to the peaceful transfer of power.””. Wow, Hillary and the Dem party, “ graciously admitted defeat”, “” urged followers to support the new administration “. Seriously pal, is that a flat out lie or not? Simple question before you share the brilliance of your imagination. Thank you.
