We have the opportunity to do an extended layover in Puerto Rico later this year. I've started watching videos, but was wondering if anyone had some "must-do" items, or even a "don't bother" advisory. We could arrange probably two nights easily, or if it's worth it, a bit longer with only moderate difficulty.
Opinions?
Obviously the videos I've watched are enthusiastic, but so far not informative about actual sights. A lot of info about food (which does look good!).

DW spent a week in PR many years ago. Old San Juan is interesting, has many historic sites, neighborhoods, restaurants. We’re not into the casino scene, so I can’t comment on that. I’d say it’s worth doing if it fits with your broader plan and isn’t particularly costly. People were very friendly.

Looks like we'll be spending two nights there. It is convenient, and will give us a taste. If we desire, we can go back in the future.
Not really beach people, and definitely not bar or casino people. Hopefully the historic sites are still there. I've seen some news stories that PR isn't getting the aid they should (even now under a different administration), so electricity is sometimes spotty, and some things haven't been fixed.
