The wildly liberal New York Post <sarcasm> published an article yesterday that provided a history of Michael James, the Black youngster that new House Speaker refers to as his son. The New York Post falsely says that Mike Johnson and wife Kelly met 'adopted' son Michael James in 1996 as "newlyweds" doing "charity work", and took him in. PROBLEM: Speaker Johnson was single in 1996 and did not meet Kelly until 1998. Speaker Johnson and Kelly did not marry until May 1, 1999.

The newspaper announcement of their wedding -- Kelly Renee Lary Weds James Michael Johnson -- details his best man, the seven attendants, the ushers and ring bearer but there isn't a word about their "son," who the Post says was living with him at the time. Anyone think it's odd that the couple's "son" doesn't make it into the wedding announcement or, for that matter, into a single wedding photograph?

The Times-Picayune ran a story on the couple, saying they fell in love at first sight and that they "were struck on their first date, he posted later on Facebook, that they both planned to name their first daughter Hannah and their first son Jack. They were married in 1999 and became one of the few couples to sign up for a covenant marriage."

Hhmmm. No mention that they already had a "first son".

In 2001, Mike and Kelly Johnson talked about their covenant marriage. Kelly: "I wanted to know it was for a lifetime. It just gives me such peace and security".

According to the Post, Michael James lived with the Johnsons until 2002, when they moved from Baton Rouge to Shreveport, leaving their teenage son behind "as he was then legally an adult".

So in 2001 they're touting their dedication to family, peace, and security, and in 2002 they abandon their adopted son.

Son Michael James then made his way on his own to Florida where he was arrested multiple times, for cocaine possessions, theft, possession of a concealed weapon, violating a protective order, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

There's no indication that Michael and Kelly reached out to help their adopted son.

When Speaker Johnson's father died in 2016, the obituary listed his 14 grandchildren -- none of them Michael James.

So many questions, the first being: was Michael James legally adopted? And if so, when?

Joe Biden bears ZERO responsibility for his son's out-of-wedlock child. This isn't a Hollywood movie. The child has a grandfather she loves and who loves her.

Well, I guess you were hoping for something bad and sinister to smear Speaker Johnson with but as it turned out, the Johnson's, a good Christian family took in a troubled teenager and raised him as their own.

'Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson's "adopted" Black son has spoken publicly about him for the first time, following reports questioning why he's stayed out of the spotlight.

Michael Tirrell James, 40, told DailyMail.com that he would "probably be in prison" if it wasn't for Johnson.

"If the Johnsons hadn't taken me in as a teenager, my life would look very different today. I would probably be in prison or I might not have made it at all," James, now a father of four, told the outlet.

DailyMail.com reported that Johnson and his wife took custody of James when he became homeless at 16 and raised him as their son, and he lived in their home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

I always felt loved like I was a part of their family," James told DailyMail.com. "They have been there for me when I have been lost and in the deepest valleys, and I know it was hard at times to constantly help someone who didn't always get it right."

Johnson, a Louisiana congressman and a Christian, told the outlet that he believes "God intended for Michael to be a part of our lives."

"Kelly and I have always seen him as one of our own. Despite any mistakes he's made, we love Michael and are blessed to have him in our family," Johnson said.

Though he raised him as his own, Johnson said he never formally adopted James because of the "lengthy adoption process," The New York Times reported.

James has never participated in Johnson's political career or campaigned for him.'
