I kind of thought along those lines, but have since changed my mind.
Pedophilia is almost the bottom rung in prison. Pedophilia AND being a rat would be the bottom rung. Not much of a life span there.
Trust Trump to issue a pardon in the future? Why would he follow through? Doesn't have a snowball’s chance in hell.
Not sure what state the crimes took place, but surely a state prosecutor would be drooling at the chance to jail someone involved in pedophilia the moment she stepped out of federal prison.
Then again, maybe I’ve watched too many prison flicks. 😁

I don't think so. Trump doesn't need or want Maxwell saying he's a choir boy. That doesn't solve his political problem.
I'll keep banging this drum over and over again. Trump's problem isn't that the unreleased files could implicate him in crimes. It's that the files can't implicate anyone at all in any crimes. His supporters believe that the government has long had proof of horrible crimes, and has chosen not to act on that proof to protect the wicked but powerful. They will be livid if Trump does not use these files to send people off to jail. But Trump can't use these files to send anyone off to jail, because there's nothing in them that could result in anyone being convicted (other than Maxwell and Epstein, were he still alive).
So what Trump wants from Maxwell is to point the finger at someone. Anyone. Preferably a Democrat, but they'll take anyone. They want something that will let them open an investigation, ask for a search warrant, convene another grand jury - anything that can take a long time and let them lob accusations against people. They just need to stretch it out a few more months, have an excuse to pretend to their base that there's movement, and that whatever might be in the files can't be released because it would interfere with some criminal process.

maxwell has to balance any further information will harm her, against trusting trump for whatever gains.
either way, w/o corroborating evidence, its all useless other than for propaganda...and MAGA reigns supreme here other than a narrow covid handling loss.
(and evidence against trump himself would probably have to be some video evidence of a direct crime...not some 'uncle donny' kiss)
