I don’t think censoring information from any government makes any sense


It does make sense, it's just where do we draw the line. Political speech is protected within the United States. If a bad actor is disseminating disinformation from within the US, it has some protection, but not if it's disinformation tied to a foreign propaganda machine that is bent on helping elect one candidate over another. If a foreign government openly states it prefers one candidate over another, I have no problem with that.
