But the cost of replacing the door, frame, threshold, and much more can be a major $$$$ expense than having them be able to open the door with a key or passcode.

So are you saying you can give the FD a passcode, and they'll use it? I don't know, I'm asking. I've never heard of that. Otherwise, they're going through your door.

I wonder if that is somehow covered under a homeowner's policy...
