White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt also said during a press briefing that Trump, who she had spoken to earlier that day, viewed any move by Amazon to list tariff costs as a “hostile political act.”
CNN first reported on the call between Trump and Bezos this morning, when the president complained about reports that Amazon was considering displaying the cost of US tariffs next to prices for certain products on its website.
When asked by CNN’s Kaitlan Collins how his call with Bezos went, Trump was quick to respond: “Great.”
“Jeff Bezos was very nice. He was terrific. He solved the problem very quickly, and he did the right thing,” Trump said. “Good guy,” he added.
