Are blue cities finally waking up to the fact that when you vote in hard-core progressives they bring the cray-cray? Defunded police, criminals with more rights than citizens and a free for all on the streets?

This was huge. Portland has been a cesspool for a while now and its residents have seemingly been immune to common sense (they re-elected Mayor Ted Wheeler, for example, although IIRC his opponent was even crazier). Are they seeing the light?

Maybe.

Fox 12 called the race at approximately 9:30 pm local time with Schmidt’s opponent Nathan Vasquez leading 58 percent to 42 percent. In a non-partisan primary, if a candidate garners over 50 percent of the vote, they are declared the winner of the election but don’t take office until January 2025.
