I deleted the thread called "When the USA ..." as requested by the author.

I was saddened to see above thread on the Berkshire board and am glad it's gone. Apparently the author's intent was to post on the US Policy board, but they mistakenly posted here. The other authors in the thread could have shown better judgement by not participating because they knew it was the Berkshire board. I commend those who showed restraint and did not pile on.

In the future, when egregiously political posts show up here, let's please request Manlobbi to first move the post/thread to the the US Policy board. After that, those who wish to participate can do so to their heart's content!

In my opinion, OT content in moderate amounts is fine, because it's hard to keep a board going with only On Topic posts. But I think it makes sense to make an exception for politics for obvious reasons.

I don't know how we discuss the impact of policy without discussing politics - at least in the minds of people who disagree with someone's position on policy. And to think that policy has no impact on investing is beyond shortsighted, it's willful denial of reality.
