In 2009, after the world financial meltdown, I bought my first BRK. I was reeling from seeing our IRAs cut in half, but I had read the WEB essay "Buy American, I am." I had some cash set aside for a house I could no longer afford, so I started buying some BRK, first with an A share at 78K. I hoped Warren would seek out some good opportunities, and his businesses were all solid basic stuff. Today we put a "6" in front of that price. PS: the house, a nice little spot in the south of France. is the same price it was back then.
