A group of us migrated from the Fool to Facebook when the hammer came down, however it is unsatisfactory. I have recommended they move here, but two people have now told me they tried, but they haven't gotten a 'sign up email' when they've signed up.
When I first came here I just gave a screen name and an email and I was immediately in.

If they signed up on 1 January, email was down that day. Other than that, the system has been sending emails reliably to people without any complaints.
I also observe a regular number of new signups (which since 2 January requires the email confirmation) each of the last 6 days so others are signing up.
If your friends tried signing up after 1 January, and did not receive an email, please ask them to check their spam folder.

A few other failed emails were reported today. Some emails are arriving however.

For now, if you are reading this and trying to sign up but not getting an email, try again using a completely different email, as you can change it any time in Personal Setting later.

OK. I'm just relaying messages I've gotten from a Facebook group where I've recommended people come over here. I'll wait another day or so before I ask them again.
In other news, I'm still being queried once a day or so to sign-in with password. Are you working on making the sign-in persistent, or is that something with my cookies?

I suspect there is a problem with the signup email being filtered out by some providers.
Email authentication is a b*tch, takes a lot of work to get 10 out of 10.
Manlobbi: Try mail-tester.com to see which issues can be easily fixed.
I just put a test address into the signup form and got 7.1/10.

Hi Aguila,
Thank you that is very useful. The score is already up to 8.5 with the
date added, and will move to 9.2 in two weeks simply when the time
expiry of it being a newly registered domain name passes.
I have also requested adding an SPF record which will move it to a
10.2 score.
