I finally took the time to listen to parts of Carter's funeral. The eulogy written by President Gerald Ford and delivered by his son Steven in fulfillment of mutual promises of long ago is one I found particularly touching. Clearly, though these men had their differences, those differences paled in the end in comparison to their respect for humanity.

We we all be well served to consider the bigger lesson from these two men.
