Three Colorado poultry workers are presumed to have bird flu, CDC says

If the cases are confirmed, it will bring the number of people who have contracted bird flu during this outbreak to seven. It poses a low risk to the general public.

As long as human-human transmission isn't occurring. If it is, we're effed. Depending on virility, it could make COVID look like a vacation. Ref: Spanish Flu of 1918.

That's what the article says.

The virus — which has caused outbreaks in dairy cattle and poultry this spring and summer — has posed a low risk to the general public because it’s unlikely to be spread from person to person. It could pose a higher risk if it mutates to spread easily between people, however, so the virus has a “pandemic potential” that makes human cases concerning, the CDC said.

The solution is to weaken (or eliminate) the CDC, or at the very least minimize the influence of their scientists. :-(

I don't want to get political here, but that seems to be the attitude of a LOT of people. Several hundred thousand** like-minded folks died of COVID, and many that remain today still have that attitude. So when person-person transmission starts occurring, it will be devastating.


**I know over a million died, but not all were of that ilk.
