I'm in the computer field (programming/security) but was late to Apple computers. Didn't get my first one until I got a MacBook Pro back around 2005. I've moved away from laptops since iPads and iMacs serve my needs better.

I strongly prefer the reliability and ease of upgrades with Apple. Sure some things, such as rendering all 32 bits apps obsolete, I didn't care for but it is nice to update the OS and just have things work. One time updating an old system it took forever and I had my doubts it would work but eventually it did. And right now I'm pushing the limits with an extreme (well too big) Excel spreadsheet with about 60,000 rows and 75+ columns with a bunch of external vlookups but I have no desire to go back to Windows and really dislike using Windows at work.

Not really an Apple OS expert but with enough computer experience I can usually dig deep enough to fix my Apple issues and spend more time than most at the command line/terminal window.
