Fittingly I just read this Economist article which is blowing in the same horn:

For one-way Germany-New Zealand in summer the cheapest I could get was '1,900 - more than what I paid 3 and 4 years ago for
return flights. For 2 return flights Hawaii-Crete in business friends paid $19,000 - at least double of what they usually paid. It's not only about comparing capacity now and before pandemic as this completely changes how much money Airlines make per seat sold.
