When I retire I'll be old enough for Medicare. But I will be continuing employer coverage for my wife for a few years, without the generous subsidy that comes with employment.

Question: does this continue to be pre-tax (from my pension).

Nice that you can do that. I lost Retiree health care as soon as DH turned 65, but he was already retired.
