Even if you eschew the Google products yourself, all emails you exchange with people using gmail get mined.
This at least concerns only their own email service - but Microsoft tops that. Two years ago they replaced Outlook, now called "Outlook Classic", by "New Outlook", now simply called "Outlook", probably to hide what they did, the main difference: Contrary to classic email clients Outlook now does not deliver emails directly to the recipient´s provider, but first routes ALL emails through Microsoft servers, no matter from which or to which email provider.
