Still can't believe the dems wanted a shutdown. With no appropriates bills Trump can fire whomever he wants. Say Goodbye to the Departmen of Education, potentially.
But Russ Vought just came out swinging, cancelling $18B in projects for New York City:

He's probably just getting started.
From the Google net sifter:
The U.S. federal government allocated over $1.1 trillion to state and local governments in 2023 to fund programs like Medicaid, food assistance, and transportation. These funds, which constituted about 18% of the federal budget in 2021 and are largely made up of health-related grants, help support state and local services and are often transferred through states to local entities
I remember a lot of barking about Reagan's budget cuts being largely offset, from the Prole's perspective, by state tax increases, to offset the lost Federal money.
I'm sure the regime will give us a stirring speech about "personal responsibility"

The $18B "pause" has nothing to do with the shutdown. As OMB Director Russell Voight made clear, the funding for both Gateway and the Second Avenue Subway is on pause because of "unconstitutional DEI principles".

Real stupidity, publicly displayed, shown above.
NY is a blue state, so any LOSS OF REVENUE is a GREATER LOSS TO THE FEDS than to the city or state.
What a maroon.
