"Replaces Brad Jenkins, who left Pilot in January"

https://www.knoxnews.com/story/news/local/2024/04/...

(link opens non-paywall Knoxville, TN, news website with a decent article on the Rocky Mountain Power CEO joining Pilot in a new role as head of Pilot Energy)

A huge game changer at brk, taking control followed by a major management upgrade. It remains to be seen how big a write down brk takes later this year?

Useful, interesting, and thank you

But: wow. My cookie blocker blocked thirty-four tracking/profiling cookies from knoxnews.com. A new record for one site.

(For comparison: shrewdm & Wikipedia each have zero; the NYT, fifteen)

It has been interesting to see a new generation of executives being moved/promoted from within BHE to run Pilot. First Adam Wright (CEO) and Joe Lillo (CFO); now Gary Hoogeveen to run Pilot Energy.

Very un-Buffett-like to replace the leadership of an acquired company so quickly, but I guess he decided Pilot needed an overhaul. It makes sense to put people who know Greg Abel (and whom he trusts) in key positions there, since he is the future. They also seem to have ideas for growing that business, so it will be interesting to see what moves they make.
