She spoke English well enough to get across the message that the way Trump wants to unify people is to eliminate opposition.

OH, just another left wing hit piece. 🙄
Our First Lady Melania Trump is intelligent enough to speak and understand something like five languages.
In contrast First Lady Jill Biden spoke only English, Maybe some Spanish, ‘Breakfast Tacos’
First Lady Michelle Obama spoke two languages, English and Ebonics.

To be fair, she was told when she came over here that she wouldn't really be using her mouth for speaking.

We are aware of TWO: Russian and broken English.

Did you even watch the video? The point wasn't that her English is rough. It was the hypocrisy of MAGA demanding that brown people (Latino, Chinese) speak perfect English when they get here, while the white lady who has been here for 30 years is still pretty bad at it.

Would like to say: who gives a flying fart about her?
Some years ago, someone criticized Harry Truman's daughter, and Harry's outrage, at his family being picked on, was epic. For decades, close family was off limits. If you don't like the President's policies, confront the President. Don't snipe at his family, like cowards.
from the net sifter:
In December 1950, President Harry Truman famously wrote a scathing, handwritten letter to The Washington Post music critic Paul Hume, threatening him with physical violence after Hume panned a singing performance by Truman’s daughter, Margaret. Truman called the review "lousy" and told Hume he would "need a new nose" if they ever met.
Key details regarding the incident include:
The Provocation: Paul Hume wrote in The Washington Post that Margaret Truman was "flat a good deal of the time" and lacked "professional finish" in her singing, notes The Times.
The Letter: An enraged Truman wrote (on White House stationery) that the critic was an "eight ulcer man on four ulcer pay" and a "frustrated old man" who needed to be "whipped," according to The Washington Post.
Public Reaction: When the letter became public, it was widely criticized, but Truman remained unapologetic, stating he wrote it as a loving father defending his daughter, rather than as president, reports LiveJournal.

Yeah, this isn't that. Unless somebody gave Margaret Truman millions of dollars to buy influence with her father.

I didn't give it a second thought at first. Lots of Europeans are multi-lingual because of the close proximity of so many nations. But, since it appears to be contentious, I looked it up just to satisfy my curiosity. At least in public, she has only been heard to speak two languages: Slovenian and English. Doesn't mean she doesn't know more languages, but we have no evidence of it.
Totally irrelevant to anything. But we can only KNOW that she speaks two languages because that's what has been heard, at least thus far.

"Butwhataboutism". Or Tu Quoque fallacy. Completely irrelevant to the point being made that you either missed or ignored. The people pointing out that Melania's English is rough were/are doing so only in that MAGA doesn't care about that, but very much care that non-white immigrants have rough English.
If MAGA didn't call out, for example, Mexicans about it, no one would have had to point out they were being inconsistent with respect to Melania (whom has been here decades).
As an aside, I totally agree that you should have to learn English if you are going to become a citizen. Which is pretty much the law already. The only exceptions are for age and disability, in which case you can take the citizenship test in another language. Otherwise, no. It's in English, and you must pass. I know this first-hand, plus I just double-checked to be sure it hadn't changed. It hadn't.
