So as I strive for enlightenment, could you explain the mechanics of how getting rid of the National Weather Service can be monetized for their own personal gain?

Your lack of knowledge as evidenced by that question is precisely why it's so dangerous/damaging to allow experts to be replaced by loyal ideologues.

So many industries depend on NOAA and NWS that crippling or privatizing it would be unthinkable.... if you were aware of the myriad way we depend on the unbiased 24/7 service it provides.
