One counter argument is that AI start ups my be able to develop edge case solutions that customers begin to blot onto their core SaaS solutions

Maybe not directly linked to Constellation as I don't know anything about them:

- The woman who was one of the main developers of the very first router at Wellfleet, a company long gone, has been out of IT after the .com crash, and since some years is 100% into IT and especially AI again, just told me: "AI currently enables know-nothings to build a rudimentary program, a prototype --- but not more".

- The SAP manager I recently wrote about just told me: "Soon with AI a startup with a handful of coders could build itīs own Excel --- but who [talking about companies, not individuals] would buy it from them? Nobody would. For SAP AI is not a threat, but an opportunity."
