"N.C. State quarterback Grayson McCall retires from football at 23 after concussions.
The 23-year-old was carted off the field during N.C. State's Oct. 5 game against Wake Forest after two defenders hit him as he scrambled during the first quarter. During the hit, his helmet came off and he lost control of the ball, then laid on the ground as a defender returned the fumble nearly the entire length of the field.
"Brain specialists, my family, and I have come to the conclusion that it is in my best interest to hang the cleats up," he continued. "I have done everything I can to continue, but this is where the good Lord has called me to serve in a different space."

It's one of the ugly truths of the game..... Tua should have forced to take the rest of 2022 to let his brain rest after that game with the Bills. If it had really been a sore back they would have put him into intense PT for a week...not risked making it worse.
I hope he doesn't end up like Junior Seau.
I saw a new custom 10' surfboard listed on Craiglist by the Takayama surf shop in Oceanside CA. I called the store. They told me it had been shaped by Donald Takayama for Junior(they were surfing buddies), but Junior committed suicide before the shop finished glassing the board. Takayama had autographed the board to Junior under the glass. Kinda too morbid for a daily rider.
