Another failure for president Biden: 4.9% GDP growth rate for the July-through-September period. Trying to remember if former president Trump ever had a GDP growth rate of 4.9% or higher other than the quarter after the 29.9% DROP following COVID-19 lockdown.

Gross domestic product, a measure of all goods and services produced in the U.S., rose at a seasonally adjusted 4.9% annualized pace in the July-through-September period, up from an unrevised 2.1% pace in the second quarter, the Commerce Department reported Thursday. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been looking for a 4.7% acceleration in GDP, which also is adjusted for inflation.

Trump in 2018: "You look at GDP at 3.2 percent, we're doing so well... Nobody would have believed it."

In TrumpWorld today there's lots of 'I don't care' but had Trump posted a couple of 4.9% GDP growth quarters with near record low unemployment he would have been demanding his cult erect him a statue.

OF COURSE!!!

Nicely flowing Fossil Fuels -- screw little Greta.

No "Tax Hikes on the Rich"

Corporate tax proposal lower than under George W Bush.

No material changes to Trump tax plans.

Record spending on Defense.

The CONSUMERISM that Liberals whined about - - in full force.

Re shoring jobs - less talk about open this, and free trade that...

Indeed.....it's pretty good stuff!

But in typical Democrat fashion....... the middle class feels very pinched. Hey, everything is Bidenomics right? It all flows from one man right? Millions of Americans not prepared for retirement. Inflation - yea yea a high class problem.

Either way the Biden Reagan Manchin Bush Trump policies - overall - are pretty good!

Republicans - should give Biden a second look. He's closer to them than he is the Left. LOL. But then again, Club 401K - upper income Liberals - ahem - sold out to the S and P 500 long ago, they pissed on John Lennon and Embraced Dick Cheney long ago. LOL Sellouts. - but it pays well.

Wonder if they realize that this means the Fed's rate hikes aren't working?

And that the Fed will have to raise rates even more...?

Probably not. Chatbots just go for headlines; not actual analysis.

Funny, the recessionistas promised us a recession by the end of 2022 and when it didn't appear, they said, "Wait'll 2023, baby!"

In 2023, the economy kept growing and unemployment hit fifty year lows with inflation falling from over 8% a year ago to 3.7% at the latest reading (and still falling).

So instead of that promised and predicted recession this year, the economy is actually growing at nearly 5% and if Powell reads beyond the headlines, he's done hiking.

But thanks for your "actual analysis".

Sorry, ChatNPC. That's you regurging numbers that make you think you're scoring points. You aren't.
Let's dig into your GDP numbers and see what drove them.

https://seekingalpha.com/article/4643812-us-gdp-su...

The US economy expanded at 4.9% in 3Q with the government, households and homebuilders all contributing significantly and inventory rebuilding further boosting activity.

Let's unpack that sentence and hand you a clue while we're at it: If you're relying on government spending to prop up your GDP numbers, that's a clue that the economy isn't nearly as healthy as you claim it is.

Secondly. homebuilders all contributing significantly

How long's that gonna last with mortgage rates at 8%? Yeah. It's not. You want a chart that shows us what Bidenomics is all about?

It's this one: https://www.atlantafed.org/center-for-housing-and-...

Affordability rates in the sewer. So how long is the housing "boom" going to last?

And what else made up the surge?
https://fred.stlouisfed.org/release/tables?eid=129...

Nonfarm inventory is 1.28% of the 4.9%. That's weird.
