Nation Reports Economy Getting Worse; Wallets Respond, ‘We Told You So’
"Gallup poll finds that 73% of Americans say the economy is getting worse"
Even the Trump cheerleaders at Fox are noticing the smoke seeping under the door:
"A Fox News poll found 70% of voters saying they felt the economy was getting worse, up 15 points from last April."
"Most voters blame Trump for the economy. Fox News found that by a 2-to-1 margin, voters said Trump’s policies were hurting rather than helping the economy."
"Fox News found 66% of voters disapproving of how Trump is handling the economy, tying last month’s ratings and marking a record low in approval (and record high in disapproval) over both of Trump’s terms."
"Just 2 in 10 Americans said they were personally better financially off than they were a year ago, down 8 points from January."
Remaining MAGA optimists placed on endangered species list...

It is truly remarkable how the MAGA posters here manage to consistently ignore ALL facts that don't fit their RW narratives.

The only "fact" you stated was how people who responded to Fox's poll "felt" about the economy.
In one sense, that's a "fact"--about people's subjective emotional state. And, "consumer sentiment" is certainly a factor in economic forecasting.
Because when voters "feel bad" about the economy, they might spend less than otherwise.
But what actually matters is how much they do spend, not how they "feel about the economy."

A trait of cults. You cannot question the guru. You must NOT think for yourself.

What you say is true.
But it’s only half the truth.
The other half is that these people are also called “voters”.

In other words, essentially trad-wives who are not female.

Missing a couple key points.
1. Do they have the CASH resources to support their spending?
2. If they do NOT have the cash, then their spending will be curtailed when then run out of credit cards AND things to sell to fund their overspending.

And #3:
If they feel the economy is bad, they are more likely to hunker-down. Delay purchases, become tight with spending. Which is sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy, because if nobody is spending money, the economy will get worse than it already is, becoming as bad as they thought it was (which reinforces their decision to go into thrift mode).
