I've been seeing articles for the past few months. I'm starting to wonder how this will/may affect the balances in Congress. A lot of seats aren't going to benefit from incumbency if they're retiring. Will seats be more competitive with all these retirements?

Representative Sam Graves, the chairman of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, said he would leave Congress after nearly three decades, the latest sign that the G.O.P. is bracing for big losses.

Trump will be desperately trying to find ways to help the GOP cheat in the mid-terms. The Save American Act is bullshit, but he might succeed in bullying enough Republican congresspersons to get it passed.

His hail Mary might be to invent an excuse to declare martial law. But I'm sure his sycophants in the government will go along with whatever he comes up with no matter how un-Constitutional.

That's actually what 1poorlady is expecting. She lived through Marcos. She thinks the same thing is happening here. It shouldn't be possible, but with a cooperative Congress, there really isn't anything to stop the Felon. So it is very possible.

It's not surprising that two people with similar paranoid delusional world views would get married to each other, is it?
