Plus I will pay their tuition directly to get more money out of my estate.

That way they can let these funds compound for a very long time.


I did the same thing. Same reasoning. Payed their undergrad tuition via gifts and let BRK ride. Now one either has the early life assets needed for more advanced degrees, starting her own savings/investments, or home ownership without years of saving etc.. The other has her med school expenses covered.

I encourage friends to think about the same strategy.
