After making a fool of himself and having his handlers pull him off the stage at the 35-minute mark of a 60-minute interview with three journalists at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), DonOld has officially chickened out of the previously scheduled, DonOld approved, ABC News hosted debate in September.
Frightened to appear on any network that will not treat him as royalty and overlook his behavior and firehose of lies, DonOld now wants to move the debate to RNC surrogate Fox News in the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, at a site in an area to be determined. The Moderators of the Debate will be Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, and the Rules will be similar to the Rules of my Debate with Sleepy Joe, who has been treated horribly by his Party – BUT WITH A FULL ARENA AUDIENCE!
Vice president Harris should laugh in his face and call DonOld a coward, too feeble to debate according to the rules and terms he originally negotiated, frightened, a crybaby who never met an agreement he wouldn't break for his own personal benefit.
And, oh yeah, weird.

I would like to see a Harris PR like this:
“Don, we know you’re afraid to debate VP Harris under terms you previously agreed to. Wuss. So put on your big girl panties and show up at the debate. VP Harris will be there to answer debate questions whether you show up or not. But we know VP Harris is a lot tougher than you. Double wuss.
Also, we’re happy to discuss additional debates as long as the network hasn’t voluntarily paid over three-quarters of a BILLION dollars because of months of lies about a free and fair election. Sorry you feel the need to hide behind your mommy’s apron.”
Or something along those lines.

Ideally, I'd like to see three Harris/Trump debates:
1. On FOX News on Trump's terms
2. On MSNBC, on Harris' terms
3. On PBS News, on PBS's terms
So, one on a network favorable to Trump, on on a network favorable to Harris, and one on neutral territory. Though no doubt Trump will claim that PBS is not at all neutral.
Dates: 1. Aug 15. 2. Sept 15. 3. Oct 15.

I listen to a fair amount of NPR while driving around town or in the seat of my tractor. NPR is far from neutral I assure you. I understand that your liberal mind parses as true and nothing noteworthy, but their programming is far from neutral, excluding the fair amount of bland and non-controversial content they put on.
I realize I am using NPR as proxy for PBS, so maybe PBS as a whole is more balanced.

I don’t see a need for any debates. They’re a waste of time. Harris will play by the rules, Trump will do what he wants when he wants. No new information will be shared by either candidate.
If Harris wants the live TV coverage, do live interviews with whatever networks she wants to.

LOL at this thread. The robots are calling other people names when Harris has yet to take a single question in the two weeks since she’s been “the nominee”.

Too late. They both already agreed to do one. But I agree, unless measures are taken (like killing the mike of one while the other is taking "their turn"), the convict will be disruptive and rude and unprofessional.
If they kill the mike of the non-speaker while the other one is talking, it might not be so bad. Also, no wandering around. Stay behind your podium.
I haven't watched a debate in several cycles. I think the last one was the first Obama debate simply because I had never heard of him before, and wanted to know more about him. I was pretty sure he wasn't born in Kenya (and even if he was, his mother was from Kansas...so still a citizen). At the time I had already left the Rep Party, but I was not a Democrat; and McCain was my guy in 2000.

Umm, Harris just yesterday secured the support of enough delegates to become the official Democratic nominee for president. Had she been acting as the official nominee without the proper delegate count, you guys would have been calling her uppity, not "the nominee".
Any idea if DonOld will now change his signature color from orange to yellow?

I'm sorry, I must have missed the primary election(s). How many votes did she get?

To be honest, I think the whole idea of debates is an outdated one. Before the internet and cable TV, the only real way to see a candidate in action was to have a debate and watch them on national TV. Any campaign rallies got sparse coverage at best. The most you might see is a 20 second clip on one of the national news programs.
Today, you can watch every rally - most of them live, and virtually all of them archived somewhere on line. We no longer need nationally televised debates to see the candidates talking about their positions.
And in the instant case of the current presidential candidates, one of the candidates makes a mockery of the entire concept of a debate. He can't even do an interview with a somewhat hostile panel of interviewers without resorting to insults and failing to actually address the questions asked.
There is no reason at all to lend any legitimacy to Trump by standing on the same stage with him. Harris should run her own campaign, talking directly to the voters. And she should do an interview with Fox or another right-wing news outlet, just to get in front of some people that might not see her otherwise.

I agree. But if the campaign already committed, it would be a bad look to back out. Even though what you're saying is true.
I don't think she should agree to any more, as long as they can control the optics. Though I doubt the convict would want any more.

I think she's agreed to show up with ABC whether Trump does or not. Probably the best way to handle the situation.

Harris is still a no to changing the debate date/venue.
That article (posted earlier today in a thread) on Trump's rally community suggests that they would be in line for days before the rally to assure themselves of getting prime heckling seating. WWE all the way.
No way Harris should allow herself to get sucked into a moronic kayfabe show.

He wants to excite an audience; a raucous WWE event,
He needs the self-affirmation of cheering crowds and friendly questioners. They are his security blanket, just like many 2 year olds.
Without the crowds and friends, he puts on a terrible show. Just like at the last debate. It's arguably the second-worst presidential debate performance in history. Unfortunately, Biden's performance at that same debate was the worst. So he looks like the winner by comparison.
Kind of like deciding a mid-70s AMC Pacer was the best car ever made by comparing it only to a 1980's Yugo.

And primarily, I suspect, because his debate opponent has changed to one he fears will make mincemeat of him.
