The Berkshire stake is the second largest 13F position at 9.25% of the portfolio. It has been in the portfolio since their first 13F filing in Q1 1999. Recent activity follows. The last ten quarters saw a roughly two-third reduction at prices between ~$264 and ~$483. This quarter also saw minor trimming. The stock is now at ~$512. They are harvesting gains.

Interesting and Surprising imo, esp. as a Director. BRK has climbed 90% (Fall 2022) since they have been trimming 2/3 of their position. I do enjoy his interviews and commentary (spoke at VALUEx Omaha) but am less impressed with the portfolio & wow, >100 positions?! To each their own.
Funny, I randomly saw Chris had called for an Uber by valet drive at a downtown Omaha hotel & a group of young foreign attendees about jumped in his car. He jovially said “Easy fellas, this one is for Chris, good night.” & sped away.😁He seems “real”, modest and good natured!

director Wally Weitz owns a fund that has also been selling Berkshire. I don't know if Wally is officially the "manager" of this particular fund but it seems peculiar that Berkshire board members who are also investment advisors aren't required to report as insiders when they buy and sell. I'm sure there is an official sounding reason.
https://www.dataroma.com/m/holdings.php?m=WVALXI have the same name as director Christopher Davis and it has lead to some funny emails with Marc Hamburg over the years. I am always super clear that I am NOT the same guy that sits on his audit committee, but he is getting older and still mixes us up from time to time.

Yeah it is weird that neither Weitz nor Davis has to file an SEC form with respect to BRK sales from the fund management companies they run.

Would have been better off heeding Charlie’s aphorism “Hold the damn stock”.

lol, good catch nola. Keep in mind the control family at STEW has sold off over 30 % of its brkb as well, the past few years. I suspect they sold more in q-1. It's amazing how many investors who have held brk for many decades and know Buffett, agree with Buffett, and are NOT holding the D--- stock. So far, the new buyers have gotten it right.
