I think we talked about this more on the prior boards, rather than this one - but it's worth putting a coda on all those discussions. Per the Wall Street Journal, D'Souza has issued an apology for the incorrect information and conclusions presented in 2000 Mules. Given that he and the other participants got sued eight ways from Sunday over their allegations, I suspect that this was a required element of one of the settlements.

Indulging Donald Trump’s claims that the 2020 election was stolen has ruined many reputations. The latest is the unraveling of the MAGA mockumentary “2000 Mules.” This week the movie’s narrator, Dinesh D’Souza, issued an apology for misleading viewers. “I now understand that the surveillance videos used in the film were characterized on the basis of inaccurate information provided to me and my team,” Mr. D’Souza says on his website. “If I had known then that the videos were not linked to geolocation data, I would have clarified this and produced and edited the film differently.” The thesis of “2000 Mules” was that an analysis of cellphone location data showed suspicious patterns near ballot drop boxes in several states. Much of the movie consists of surveillance footage of voters putting ballots into drop boxes, as scary music plays in the background. “What you are seeing,” Mr. D’Souza intones, “is a crime.” In reality, what viewers were seeing might have been a libel.

There's enough REAL problems with America's culture and "democracy!" -- why does the dummy have to make stuff up?

first, more than half of the halfwits that lauded '2k mules' garbage lost interest by 2024.
who is listening to his insincere apologies based on avoiding financial stress?

lastly, the remaining quarter-wits that have any recall of this movie are holding on to some deep-state forced apology, and all is still true.

In reality, what viewers were seeing might have been a libel.

More of a side question to albaby1 about libel v. slander: while the easy difference between the two is libel is written while slander is spoken does this mean that even though the false statements in 2000 Mules were spoken in the film, because film is a form of media it is now libel, a kind of "written" format?
