The report concludes that, for all their giving, most pledgers aren’t living up to the pledge. Among the findings:
Of the 57 original pledgers, 32 are still billionaires and have collectively grown 283% wealthier since they signed.
Of 22 deceased pledgers, only eight fulfilled their pledges, giving away half or more of their wealth by their death.
Roughly 80% of charitable giving by the original pledgers went to private foundations, rather than directly to charities. "
