...to deny motions or appeals from Donald Trump in the Appellate Division, First Department. There are only 21 judges on that court.

Monday, jury selection begins in the election interference criminal trial -- hey, let's call it what it is -- and DJT faces 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the first degree, all of which are tied to the former president’s role in a hush-money payment to a porn star, Stormy Daniels, in a scheme to influence the 2016 presidential election by purchasing damaging stories about him to keep them under wraps.

Three potential additional crimes DJT is accused of concealing include: a federal campaign finance violation, a state election-law crime, and tax fraud.

The list of possible witnesses includes Stormy Daniels, Karen McDougal, Michael Cohen, David pecker, Dylan Howard, Deborah Tarasoff, Rhona Graff, Hope Hicks, Keith Davidson, Madeleine Westerhout, and Jeffrey McConney.

No wonder DJT is scared sh!tless and has repeatedly tried to derail this trial, which is expected to last up to two months.

So what are the odds that Trump takes the stand?

Right. Zero chance.

A lot of the time defendants don't take the stand. I think most of them don't. And it would be seriously unwise to put him on the stand. He can't control what he says, and no matter how much his lawyers coach him, I doubt they can, either. He could blow his whole defense if he is put on the stand, and a trained lawyer would probably have a field day with cross-examination. Trump isn't that smart, and would probably not realize where the prosecutor is maneuvering him until he said something really dumb.

Heck, he can't even keep straight whether he can afford the bond. First he says he has at least $500M in the bank, and then he says he can't afford the bond and pleads poverty. And which case was it that he made some public comments that pretty much nuked his entire defense strategy? This was a few months ago, I think.
