Indeed.....

It's not the first time.

But the 401K'ers of Silicon Valley -- wanted their own school for their 'gifted kids' .

So let's see, well educated, well financed people - tossing millions and millions to start a school. Students - from prosperous backgrounds not Liberal plantations in the city. Tuitions for kids of $40K + per year. What could go wrong?

Yet another example of hose 401K'ers with a god-dman spreadsheet, some college thesis and a "link" ---can't in reality do jack shit usually
:
https://www.wsj.com/us-news/education/how-silicon-... Silicon Valley’s Brightest Parents Broke Their Own School

"Tech executives built the ‘it’ school for their gifted kids. Lawsuits, internal feuding and a breakaway followed.")

I had read the print version some days ago but it was such a lovely story I wanted to savor my diner breakfast while reading it and figured I'd post it in a few days.

So let's see--- you people can't get child-care handled in NYC nor do you care WHY you need so much subsidized child care.

And now. your zilionairrres -- can't even run a school.

Why not outsource your entire country? (s if you have one)

As we know, education is the prerogative of the rich. Education is wasted on expendable Proles. I commented, some days ago, about a "JC" running for Gov in Michigan, who wants to repeal the 6% state property tax, that provides 15% of the state education budget. Cutting school funding in Michigan by 15% would drop the state funding per student rank from 22nd, to 40th.

Every "right thinking" person knows this, and wants public education defunded, right?
/sarcasm

Argentina sees vast protests against Milei's university cuts

Congress approved two laws, one in 2024 and one in 2025, to fund public universities' operational costs and raise teacher salaries in line with high inflation.

But Milei later vetoed the legislation, arguing that it contradicted his government's fiscal policy.

I'm not an extremist on this.

I don't feel that 'public' is the only way or "private' is the only way.

I regret how one demographic is in inner city plantation schools -- and going on to prisons, sub-living wage jobs, and suffering the way the White Liberals want for them. "Fund education"! The Sunday Brunch crowd shouts---and is content to wait for generations.

Speaking for myself - back when I cared I never ever wanted public education defunded - but then again I'm not an extremist.

I just felt - bring together the major players - parents, teachers, pop culture, clergy---- and has things out. Maybe ask---why kids from poorer countries. in shittier buildings -- kick our asses academically for starter and maaaaaaaybe -- the corrupt contractors who build palaces lose some business. Maybe unions lose a bit of money. But American kids - move forward.

Now I don't give a shit.....

If more Americans prosper I'm happy.

If more of them need prisons, pay the higher interest rates---well, there's a reason I retired at 45.

All is well -- I'd rather just enjoy the status quo and laugh now ---not even try to even think about how to improve it.

Besides, keep them dumber- it'll be easier to put them in pseudo camps down the road when the jobs are gone (for them).

I'm not an extremist on this.

A lot of people who get their mitts on the control levers are extremists. Remember Trump's first Sec Education, Betsy DeVos? More Michigan "talent" in the education privatization extremist swamp. Perry Johnson (candidate for Gov) doesn't say it out loud, but, I bet, when he repeals that property tax, cutting school funding by 15%, he also has the state subsidize private schools, from that reduced education funding pool, so there is even less for the public schools. Destroying public education has been foundational ideology for the GOP, here in Michigan, for years.

Someone recently posted that Sweden is moving to unwind it's "social safety net". Wonder how they sold that? Probably the same way the US does "let us defund the program your neighbor benefits from, and maybe you'll get a tax cut"? So, while you are voting to defund a program that helps your neighbor, your neighbor is voting for the same candidate, to defund a program you benefit from. Meanwhile, most of the tax cut goes to the guy behind the curtain, who is pulling the control levers.
