I've written before about the Dumb Republicans Club.
And philosophically, sure - cutting welfare, cutting government is a good thing. And in reality, IF done with skill ---it's great but sadly, that was Clinton-Gore who did it with skill.
So now, we're trying to cut food stamps and medicaid. And we can say "limiting the growth' and use fuzzy language but somehow we want to Make America Great Again, but NOT get a bite to eat or a doctor to Americans who need one. '
'It is sad that Bad Culture, bad socioeconomic decisions have given America such a huge Total Addressable market vis a vis people who need help but alas here we are. And we want to wave our flag, say MAGA, while some of our countrymen might miss food or treatment.
DEI- yep, mostly all for tearing it down especially in Liberal Elite Colleges. It's a pleasure seeing them squirm and bend the knee but - again - we are doing it without skill.
DD had a county-wide choir concert a few weeks ago. Middle and High Schools. Lovely concert, lovely teachers who truly gave a shit. Get this - one 11 year old boy was TOTALLY BLIND and was doing drums. A Special-Needs teacher assisted him to his drums. Positioned him and stayed close by. THEN he had his walking stick but she helped guide him back to his place on the rafters with the choir.
THAT IS PART OF "INCLUSION" - NOT CAUSE HE WAS BLACK OR WHITE. HE WAS AN AMERICAN CHILD WHO WAS BLIND AND BECAUSE OF THE FUCKING SPECIAL ED APPARATUS---- THE BOY IS PROBABLY DOING WELL IN SCHOOL, AND HAS FOUND MUSIC. MAYBE HE WON'T GROW UP AND JOIN THE NEW GHETTO - WHICH IS DUMB FUCK WHITE PEOPLE IN MY BELOVED RED STATES TAKING PRIDE IN NOT BEING PRODUCTIVE----THEY ARE THE NEW WELFARE QUEENS NO DIFFERENT THAN THE ONES IN THE HOOD....and they know it and are in denial. This kid is less prone to shooting someone, doing crime, or being on welfare.
It's ok if you dont' care but hey, be greedy! That kid might have a job! One day he'll pay taxes and buy shit, versus being a drain on the system.
Special-Education has little to do with skin color. Or past grievances. Or dividing people into tribes. Or addicting them to dependance. It's taking kids who would have LITTLE or NO chance and giving them a shot to be ok not just for them, but for us.
And the recent SCOTUS ruling made it easier for MAGA to take that away.
I've always said, take the gangs, crooks, drug dealers, cop killers ---- put them all in one state and let's watch it on pay per view, or better yet bring in the national guard for a one time quickie ethnic cleansing. Well, now maybe we need to throw in the ugly dumb part of mega. They can bring their AR15's to the party and maybe the National Guard can take the week off and in the end we're rid of all these people.

I dont own any gun and if I did it's not going to be meant for mass killing.
And I'm upset with the part of MAGA that says "America Great" but wants to take food and medicine away from Americans.
And take teachers and help away from disabled kids.
BUT it seems Trump has it right --- people like me who try to find common ground when I see a chance - get slapped away.
People can't find areas to agree on in Tribal Caste based America - it's gotta be all or nothing.

Crappy leaders. Exacerbated by a system that tends to put up extremist party candidates, so that centrists have no one to vote for in the general election.
Every now and then a movie or program gets it right. We've been watching The Lioness, and in season 2 Morgan Freeman had a great monologue about coming together, and division. It began as an interchange between characters that started:
"News stopped being news when they started doing it 24 hours a day."
"You got it. It became entertainment and a poor form at that."

The system was the system before but today Reagan and Bill Clinton would lose their primaries.

Lack of civics.
lack of common history.
Lack of good culture.
Is what ENABLED the extremism.
I know nobody agrees and that's cool - but - look around. Maybe try something different.
