"However I don't assume deep evil in someone who takes a few meetings with someone who later turns out to have been a horrible criminal. Perhaps because it has happened to me and I don't feel deeply evil."
In the mid-1970's when I was 6-ish years old or so. I went with my aunt, uncle and two cousins to a picnic/party held at one of the Cook County Forest Preserve areas in suburban Chicago. At this party there was a clown. Pogo the Clown. Now my older cousin and I didn't spend that much time with the clown. We were more into sports and running around so we did things like that. I don't even remember the clown except from family retellings. However, my younger cousin loved circuses, ballons, and clowns and stuff like that so he spent most of the day hanging around and being entertained by Pogo the Clown.
People old enough to remember likely know that Pogo the Clown was serial killer John Wayne Gacy. Tortured and killed dozens of boys/young men and buried the bodies around his house.
According to the logic of some of the more conspiracy minded folks here, if you "connect the dots", my little 4- or 5-year-old cousin was an accomplice to a serial killer.
