Videos Show How ICE Vehicle Stops Can Escalate to Shootings
A WSJ visual investigation found that the Minneapolis ICE killing is one of 13 incidents where federal immigration agents have used deadly force against civilians in vehicles since July A killing in Minneapolis and the shooting of two people in Portland, Ore., this week are the latest in a string of incidents involving immigration agents firing at civilian vehicles.
The Wall Street Journal has identified 13 instances of agents firing at or into civilian vehicles since July, leaving at least eight people shot with two confirmed dead. According to court records and lawyers, only one civilian was armed—with a concealed weapon that was never drawn—and at least five of those shot were U.S. citizens. Several federal officers reported injuries, including bruised ribs, a dislocated finger and a bite wound.
The Journal reviewed public records—court documents, agency press releases and gun-violence databases—of vehicle shootings involving immigration agents, though video is only publicly available for four of them. Videos for some of the other shootings remain under protective order or footage hasn’t been released by the relevant agency, despite requests from the Journal.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, which oversees federal immigration agents, said use of force was justified in the 13 cases and charged at least six people with assaulting a federal officer. Charges were later dismissed in three of the cases. Gift link:

13 incidents since July ,but not at all surprised to find that they are undertrained, and in many cases do exactly what the guidelines *(and training, if they had it) say they should not do.

13 incidents since July, out of how many hundreds of thousands of encounters during that time?
What's the percentage? You guys hate numbers, I know that, you hate statistics.
The other question to you is--do you realize ICE is doing this on their own in these areas because the local police agencies who might have more expertise in these kinds of interactions have been instructed not only to NOT cooperate, but to do everything they can to impede the immigration enforcement efforts? As well as the public?
The Left--YOU--has created the exact kind of circumstances in which incidents of this kind greatly increase in probability. If you tell everyone to "RESIST! DRIVE BABY DRIVE!" including the local citizenry and local law enforcement, are you that clueless as to how that increases the risk of such incidents occurring?
No, you're not clueless at all. The whole object of your game is to CREATE as many "martyrs" as possible for political gain for your side.
Job well done. Congratulations!

I was surprised to find that there have been 13 incidents since July ,but not at all surprised to find that they are undertrained, and in many cases do exactly what the guidelines *(and training, if they had it) say they should not do.In the Renee Good incident, the shooter - Jonathan Ross - had 10 years prior experience in ICE, and has been in law enforcement since 2007. So, he was likely well trained, but his personality and prior experiences caused him to act against training.
From Wikipedia -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Renee_Goo...The day after the shooting, the Minnesota Star Tribune identified the ICE agent involved as Jonathan Ross.[2] His name had not been publicly released by federal authorities, but was identified by the Star Tribune through court records.[3][4]
In press briefings held soon after the incident, both Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem and Vice President JD Vance mentioned that the shooting suspect had been injured previously in a traffic stop six months prior to this incident. Their statements led to the Star Tribune's discovery of the case describing such an incident.[2][31][32] The previous incident involving Ross took place during an attempted arrest in Bloomington, Minnesota, on June 17, 2025,[33][34] when he was dragged 50 yards (45 m) and injured by a vehicle after he smashed its window and reached in to unlock the door.[2][35][36]
Ross graduated from Richwoods High School in Peoria, Illinois, in 2001.[37] He worked for the US Border Patrol from 2007 to 2015[36] and in the Indiana National Guard from 2002 to 2008. He served as a machine gunner in the Iraq War from 2004 to 2005.[37] Court documents listed his start date with ICE as 2016.[38] He was in the Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) unit of ICE at the time of the shooting.[32] Ross testified in December that he was "a firearms instructor, an active shooter instructor ... a field intelligence officer, and ... a member of the SWAT team, the St. Paul Special Response Team".[39]
Ross's family and friends describe him as a "hardcore conservative Christian and MAGA supporter".[32]

It's a big mistake to just focus on this one particular incident.
States like Minnesota and cities like Minneapolis are deliberately not giving ICE adequate assistance from local LEOs who know the areas and know the communities and know the people who live in them.
They are tasking local LEOs to do everything they can to NOT cooperate, and to actively obstruct the ICE efforts.
This politically-motivated, insurrectionist-minded anti-federal-law enforcement policy is clearly greatly increasing the risk of these kinds of incidents.
If local LEO was assisting ICE, the locals would be doing traffic and crowd control and the ICE agents could focus on illegal aliens.
Since the local LEOS are in fact interfering or at least not assisting ICE, the ICE personnel are overstretched and trying to multi-task a clearly hostile civilian leftist population.
When the town tree cutter trucks need to cut some branches away from power lines on the side of the roadway that you use to go to and from work, does local LEO cooperate and help with traffic control? Or does it say "Nah fuck you, just cut those trees and if some motorist crashes into you or one of your workers gets hit by passing traffic, GOOD!!! FUCK YOU!!! STOP CUTTING DOWN TREE BRANCHES!!! SERVES YOU RIGHT, FASCISTS!!!!"
I mean don't be naive and stupid. The intention of these deep blue leftist insurrectionists was precisely to make ICE's job more difficult if not impossible.
The left is causing all of these tragedies, and doing it deliberately.
YOU guys have the moral and ethical responsibility for these deaths. YOU caused them. YOU wanted them.
That's why you're celebrating them for political reasons.

You do have a point, and I agree.
I looked up the dragging incident, from earlier last year. The DOJ web page repeats that the perp was a "convicted sex offender"....the regime does seem to have an obsession with sex. Yes, the perp was convicted, in 2022, of fooling around with an under age person. For whatever reason, local authorities turned him loose, in spite of there being an existing removal order for him. So, yes, the officer was performing his job when he tried to arrest the guy in 2025. The perp was convicted of the dragging incident last month and is awaiting sentencing.

Fucking idiot.

The virtuous sanctuary policies set up this scenario. Imagine if Minneapolis was cooperating with ICE and using the detainer system to turn qualifying criminals that <and this is important>>>> they already have in custody over to ICE. Transfer of custody is done orderly and safely within the confines of the local jail. None of the riotous street confrontations and associated dangers to contend with.
Why on earth would any responsible politician want to keep known criminal aliens circulating in their neighborhoods?

They might not - and certainly not for dangerous criminals, rather than someone who gets clipped for a very minor offense. But again, this is the same issue I was discussing with LM in the other thread. The detainer policy has consequences for people who aren't criminals as well as criminals. Because detainer requests are not necessarily limited to people who have been convicted. So some responsible politicians object to the impact on the latter group, the consequence of deportation on the subset of people who are arrested for minor crimes, and the impact on law enforcement generally when this happens.

The problem was curable. Minnesota determined that it could hold a detainee if it had a Judicial Warrant, "because state law and Attorney General guidance say local officials can't hold people solely on federal immigration detainers (civil requests) without a court order." These judicial warrants aren't that hard to get. You get some cooperating judges (lots of these) and you can get it over the phone if need be.
The Federal Immigration Detainers are signed by the equivalent of a police captain - just from looking at it. So you get a cooperating attorney or the ICE agent himself, who is versed well enough to present it to the judge, and voila! Presto! Judicial Warrant. I'll bet the ICE agent who signs the detainer could talk to the Judge and get the Judicial warrant. It looks like a question of liability, not a road block.

Did you notice the ICE officer started shooting the cell phone video, holding the phone in his right hand? Then, when he is on the passenger side of the car, after his interaction with the other woman, you can see his left hand come into the frame, as he switches the phone to his left hand, so his right is free, so he can draw his gun and shoot. What was going through his mind, that made him decide, after shooting video for a considerable time, that he had to be ready to shoot his gun?
