Man, how great would it be if Canada and Greenland were to become the 51st and 52nd state?!?
Canada has 40 million center-left citizens, more than California. That would be two new Senators and roughly 50 congress critters from mostly liberal Toronto and Montreal (where roughly 10% of the population lives); plus two new Senators from Greenland and another 9 or 10 congress critters from Greenland. States like Texas and Florida would lose congress critters in the process. And of course, Canada and Greenland would be permitted to draw their own congressional maps to make them even more slanted.
Both countries have more robust social safety nets and more strict gun control laws.

Wouldn't work that way. Canada's libs are just like America's libs: they all live along the coasts and sneer at the flyover parts of the interior. Oh, and everyone not from Montreal hates Quebec (which wouldn't join anyway).
