Is Stockcharts really that far off?

I would say yes. For a signal that fires as frequently as NHNL, a difference of more than a day or so would warn me off.

The issue is not so much EMA vs WMA, but the number of tickers being considered in the underlying measurement. Stockcharts defines Nasdaq issues much more broadly than GTR1 does. Robbie wrote something about this back on the old board, but I cannot recall what the differences were. Barcharts seems to be much closer to GTR1 in its definition of the relevant universe.
