Apple (AAPL) on Wednesday announced it is increasing its US investment commitments over the next four years to $600 billion, tacking $100 billion onto the original $500 billion the company said it would invest back in February.
The tech giant revealed its latest spending plan during a press briefing in the Oval Office alongside President Trump, during which CEO Tim Cook presented the president with a glass plaque complete with a gold base, all made in the US.

Although to be far, his central planning didn't actual cost Apple $600B. I cost Apple a statement that they would invest up to $600B in the U.S. There's no legal agreement, no binding commitment for them to do anything. But they were almost certainly going to do some serious spending in the states anyway, since they have to build server farms and power plants for their AI programs that have to be in the U.S. More than enough to serve as a fig leaf for the next 3.5 years and let Trump pretend he had something to do with it. But Apple probably won't spend much more than they would have done if Trump hadn't done anything.

Government has, in essence, already chosen the Coke ingredient by the system of subsidies and supports it has in place. Government makes corn cheap and plentiful. Another government program makes sugar expensive and in short supply. If you're a company operating in the US, which sweetener are you going to use? The cheap one, of course.
It would be better if the Felon ended the sugar program (and corn program), rather than just saying "thou shalt not use corn syrup". If he did that, things would return to a more natural balance, and sugar use would be more common.
