Obfuscating this dire scenario is the volatile, but overall flat trending, high yield credit spread:

The MOVE index, up from its low of 6 months ago but in the middle of the 1 year range

The charts don't say, the problems will never happen; they're just saying, "not yet..." although that second April mess was scary for a couple of weeks. They don't predict anything, much less 18-24 months out.
