Remember? In Trump's first term he sent ICE around to various communities and rounded up undocumented workers.
The little tourist town I live in depends on many low wage workers for the restaurants, hotels and other tourist-related businesses.
ICE came through and took away quite a few of the folks who were filling those jobs. The help wanted signed went up all over town and businesses shortened their hours or were closed for more days.
Given that ICE knew right where to go, I think the RAT-MAGA line was already functioning.
I would like tighter borders, too. But as long as there is such a large contrast in economic opportunity, it is damned hard to stem the flow. Throw in disruptions from climate change and you just get more displacement and illegal immigration.
I have absolutely no confidence in Trump solving root problems. His wall was a stupid and ineffective non-solution, but it did provide some graft for his buddies.

Not really, but this is a common practice no matter who is president.

There are plenty of legal citizens who are willing to work at low paying jobs such as students, moms wanting some extra money in their pocket, low educated workers learning the trade working their way up the ladder and so on.

According to Dope, you create the illusion of an emergency condition and then close the borders in response. All done by EO, simple as Pi. Stops that never-ending, constantly-expanding fractal fibonacci sequence of criminal, rape-your-daughter illegals dead cold.

Are you talking about a total southern border shut down? We know that would be economically detrimental.
If the right really wants to stem the flow they will need to get rid of asylum.

Sounds like a town where prices need to rise…

Help wanted signs abound all across the nation. 4.1% full employment.

Sounds like inflation is gonna soar.

No. We Americans are spoiled. Most of us really DO NOT want to do the kind of farm work that the imported labor is willing to do. Don't kid yourself.

Not so in the last going on four years....Many American workers have been struggling and
living from paycheck to paycheck while their tax dollars support illegal aliens free housing, free food, free health care, etc.

Do you think inflation will be higher over the next 4 years than it was over the last 4 years?
