It'll only take a 1.2% S&P500 increase from Friday's close to reset the "no new highs lately" DBE to "Bull". If it switches, that'll mean it will be another 99 days before it might signal "we might not be in a bull market".

My understanding is DBE is a hold signal, rather than a buy signal.

The technicals say 4100 is a critical resistance level. One could expect the market pulls back for a bit here given the run its had the last 3 weeks. What it does after that either changes the narrative (bear market is over if it breaks significantly above 4100), or continues the recession / inflation worry (trendless flat middling /oscillating if it pulls back off 4100 and stays down).

But all of this is short term stuff. And waiting for another 1.2% from here isn't going to kill anyone's CAGR.

Between Thursday 1/26 and today, Emerging Markets (EEM), Foreign Developed ($MSEAFE) and US Small Caps ($DJUSS) all flipped bullish on their respective 99Day / DBEs.

The two assets that have not yet: US Large Caps (SPY) and the Naz ($COMPQ).
