GTR1 has not been updated since Sept. 30th. These are the same as posted last week.

Those who follow BCC will know that, while the SMA and DBE components are easy to replicate elsewhere, the Nasdaq NHNL signal is not, in part because its specification is complex, and also because it uses a weighted moving average, which is less commonly calculated than the simple and exponential varieties.

The best replication I have found is on Barcharts, which does calculate weighted moving averages, and also seems to agree (more or less) with GTR1 as to how many stocks we're talking about (which Stockcharts apparently does not). Inspection suggests the variance is no more than a day or so. Here is a link.

If the Barcharts rendering is to be trusted, NHNL turned negative on 31 October, thus current BCC = 5.

Yes, that is correct per GTR1 and per my own calculations.

zealots,
Yes, that is correct per GTR1 and per my own calculations.

I just checked again and GTR1 only shows the BCC value up to 10/30/25. Do you have access to a different version of GTR1 than what I have?

Is Stockcharts really that far off?

https://schrts.co/NXjguwvR

The EMA9 went below -10 11/5.

That said, haven't looked for a way to automate Stockcharts historical data extract. Python, perhaps.

Is Stockcharts really that far off?

I would say yes. For a signal that fires as frequently as NHNL, a difference of more than a day or so would warn me off.

The issue is not so much EMA vs WMA, but the number of tickers being considered in the underlying measurement. Stockcharts defines Nasdaq issues much more broadly than GTR1 does. Robbie wrote something about this back on the old board, but I cannot recall what the differences were. Barcharts seems to be much closer to GTR1 in its definition of the relevant universe.

"...
The design is to use the stocks that I use, which happens to be very close to FTSE/Russell-eligible stocks, so I describe them as such for ease of communication. ...

3. Like every other source that I know of, StockCharts probably uses intra-day high/low prices instead of closing prices (assuming they calculate new highs and lows themselves), but I`ve found closing prices to be optimal. ...

6. Perhaps most importantly, judging by how bullish $NAHL remained through the end of July, I`d say StockCharts is not applying any crap filters to NASDAQ securities because it would have taken an awful lot of new highs from bond-like securities to keep it propped up like that.

Using the entire exchange for $NAHL may work fine most of the time, but for now, it`s broken IMO."
