We tried to warn you about Trump. He’s proven to be everything we said he was. Instead of heeding the warning, you chose to shoot the messenger
PS: Baaaaaaaaa I still haven't had enough. I won't even give 5%. TRAYVON!

"Pretti!!!!!!!"
You warned about Trump.
I never disagreed.
I warned, about the things that would not only elect trump but leave MAGA as a structural thing all around the world.
You didn't agree---you didn't even consider it.
But hey, this week you got "Pretti!!!!!!!!"
As usual it's not about actual results.
Hey, not much more I can do.
You've done all I could've asked for .
And in Europe, Merkel got you good ;)
Yes, Renee Good An Alex Pretti.
As usual, you can react on line "Trayvon"!!!!!
But --- you won't crush MAHA long term. When you could have and still can --- but that would rob you of "Trayvon" posts and mean you had to think for yourself and give a little ;) The world has seen now - that's not happening.
Enjoy..... what's the prize? Cutting ICE funding? OK, great. Democracy back intact after that - lol ;)

A Epitaph for Pretti: Pretti died in Defense of Illegal Aliens.
***
Now if he'd have died in defense of a known murderous or rapist illegal alien, the Sheeple Group would give him a true military state funeral.
Sheeple wanted things this way.
I've tried for decades to say "hey, problem coming, can we meet in the middle? And I've even made demonstrable steps, loudly to do so" -- Sheeple wins :)

A Epitaph for Pretti: Pretti died in Defense of Illegal Aliens.
That would be an epitaph to be proud of.
People are entitled to a defense. Especially people who are being subject to the power of the State. There are people who nobly spend their entire lives pursuing careers in defense of people who are actual criminals. Having access to that is critical to a fair and just society. That's such an important, foundational element of a just society that it's enshrined in our Constitution. We go so far as to pay for actual criminals to have access to a defense, with public funds, because it's so incredibly important.
Many of the people being rounded up by ICE aren't even criminals. Most of the rest haven't done anything worse than illegal entry. And just because someone has done something wrong doesn't mean that they deserve to be treated the way ICE and the Border Patrol are treating people.
Just because someone is an Illegal Alien doesn't make them inhuman, it doesn't make them monstrous, it doesn't make them undeserving of basic due process and basic human decency. And standing up in defense of those truths? A worthy epitaph indeed....

Thank you, albaby1.
An eloquent reminder about one of the bedrock principles of our Constitution, of our country.
I wish I could give it a thousand recs.
It bears repeating:

Pretti died in Defense of Illegal Aliens.
Yes, he did.
You toss that out as an insult. But it is a badge of honor, worn by only a few.
I believe you claim to be part of the Christian faith. I do as well. Yesterday (as I type on a Monday), one of the scripture readings in my church was from Matthew 25. It's the parable about the sheep and goats. Here it is for you:
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
...
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
Yes some verses were left out. They were left out to emphasize the point of the parable - that treating people with respect is doing the job Jesus calls us to do. When we give dignity to the poor and sick and imprisoned - the least among us - we are paying respect to God.
Isn't the "illegal alien" still a person? Still someone deserving of basic human dignity? Someone worthy of being treated fairly and with compassion? Isn't that illegal alien that stranger heading to prison Jesus is talking about here?
These aren't cattle being rounded up for shipping to a slaughterhouse. These are people. PEOPLE. They deserve to be treated with dignity even if the law calls for them to be deported. They can be deported with dignity and respect. We should not be putting people in fear for their lives.
Yet instilling fear in people is exactly what today's ICE and CBP is doing. They are making not only illegal aliens afraid, but legal citizens as well. That isn't what God calls us to do.
Pretti died protecting people from an oppressive government. He is the hero in this story. I have no idea if he practiced any particular faith, but he certainly embodied the ideal to which Jesus called his followers to strive towards in this parable.

Until they are adjudicated, NONE of them are criminals. At best, alleged criminals. We don't (or didn't use to) treat presumed-innocent people so harshly.
A worthy epitaph, but one that shouldn't have had to be written.

This is meaningless gibberish and whining.
"Don't deserve to be treated like this"...what does that even mean?
"Deserve"?
Talk about unearned entitlement!!!
If a person is in the country illegally in violation of immigration laws they are subject to being detained, possibly apprehended, and possibly deported by immigration authorities.
They "deserve" this treatment simply because they are in the country illegally. Obviously they could have left the country any time voluntarily and they chose not to. O.K.
Or, they could have chosen not to violate immigration law in the first place.
If they were infants or small children illegally imported by their parents, that's the parents' fault for bringing them in illegally, or overstaying a visa, or any other reason the child might be illegally present in the USA.
So, yes, the child "deserves" to be deported also. Don't like it? Blame the parent(s) or other person who got them into the country illegally.
